Sand Manufacturing Process

How To Manufacture Sand Step By Step Guide

We take pride in our commitment to adhering to every step of the C Sand and P Sand manufacturing process. Alpha Sands sets a high standard with its remarkable quality as we deliver 100% silt-free sand.

Jaw Crusher

The initial stage of sand manufacturing involves crushing larger stones into smaller ones; this is achieved using a Jaw crusher. Jaw Crusher is a type of compression machine that crush large stone between a moving piece of steel and a stationary piece of steel. They are used for primary and sometimes secondary size reduction. This video explains the working of the jaw crusher in detail.

Cone Crusher

Outputs from the jaw crusher will be sent to another crusher called the cone crusher; It further reduces the size of stones (Approximately Below 450 mm) by breaking them into smaller pieces (Approximately Below 45 mm). A cone crusher produces aggregate that are below 45 mm (they might be 40 mm, 20 mm or 12 mm) which are flaky and elongated. However during this process 0-5 mm particles are produced from the cone crusher are called dust. Few suppliers sell this sand as M sand in the market at a lower price.

Vertical Shaft Impact

The products from the cone crusher will be processed to a vertical shaft impact crusher, which produces superior-quality aggregates by reshaping flaky and elongated edges. During this process the sand particles get generated, which might be 0 mm to 5 mm of size which will be called as M Sand. Although M sand has quality aggregate, it contains silt which very not suitable for construction. Despite this, only some suppliers sell it as C sand in the market at lower prices, but it is not suitable for construction due to its ultra-fine particles.

Hydrocyclone

VSI output is sent to a sand-washing plant with a hydrocyclone. A hydrocyclone is an efficient gravity separation device that is used to separate slurry particles based on the weight of the particle. This process removes the silt, ultrafines, and other impurities, and the final product that we receive is Concrete sand, which is the best sand for construction.

Sand Washing Unit

Most of the sand washing units fail to remove silt and other impurities completely from single/double-washed M Sand. However, not all sand plants are created equally. Our sand washing units outperform basic ones by removing 0-150 micron particles and other impurities in a single wash. With advanced hydrocyclone, we guarantee silt-free sand, showcasing our commitment to quality.
